The deadline for submission of the online form and mp3 recordings is June 15, 2012 at 5:00PM EDT. The 63rd Annual JanFest will take place January 17-20, 2013.

Nominations are based on a research project or creative activity with a single consistent premise. Criteria include the principal direction and focus of the project occurring within the past five years and identification with the University of Georgia.

Dr. Lynch was awarded the Creative Research Medal for his work with contemporary music including commissioning and recording new works, presenting the “neXt festival of contemporary music” and the “Arch Award for Contemporary Wind Compositions,” and interdisciplinary projects within UGA. The culmination of this activity is the Naxos release of “Street Song” by the UGA Wind Ensemble this coming July. Dr. Lynch would like to share this award with the talented students and colleagues of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music.
