Ensembles

The University of Georgia Bands program is comprised of several concert ensembles, including the University Wind Ensemble, the University Wind Symphony, the University Symphonic Band, the Concert Winds, the Concert Bands, the Redcoat Marching Band, and the University Jazz Band. All bands are integral components of the School of Music in both an instructional and performance sense.

The band program serves many functions and provides a vehicle through which qualified and talented students can express themselves musically, while sharpening their skills as amateurs or professionals. The program also provides a social community for students with common interests within the University.

The bands also function as representatives of the University, both on the campus and throughout the state and nation at civic, athletic, and other events. Open to all students, regardless of the college or school in which one studies, the bands contribute to campus life.
